Installation Step 1

Bungee Yoke has many possible configurations arranging the different bungees of varying lengths. Customize the bungee configuration to most closely match your exact canoe specifications focusing closely on the width of canoe and distance to built in connection points. With Bungee Yoke oriented in a vertical position, slide the bow of the canoe through the telescopic cross member assembly. After clearing the rocker, simply rotate 90 degrees to the top of the canoe and slide the custom - ripstop nylon pads along the gunwales (toward canoe center) positioning at the approximate balance point of the canoe.

Installation Step 2

With the telescopic cross member directly above the connected hooks, the first of two "tension" bungee cords are used to connect the telescopic assembly to a built-in connection point in the canoe (usually a cross-support/thwart/or seat). Subsequently, a second "tension" bungee cord is connected in the opposing direction to the first. The order of connecting the "tension" bungee cords in opposing directions doesn't matter. Whatever works best for you, works best for Bungee Yoke too!

Installation Step 3

Adjust the length and tension of the front/back cord by simply adding wraps or loops around the aluminum tubing. The length/tension of each bungee cord is ultimately determined by the the exact canoe specifications and personal preference. Generally, the tension of each bungee should be sufficient to firmly secure the canoe to the cross member and eliminate overhead movement during portaging.
