Bungee Yoke has many possible configurations arranging the supplied cam straps of varying lengths. Customize the length of each cam strap to most closely match your exact canoe specifications focusing closely on the distance to built in connection points. With Bungee Yoke oriented in a vertical position, slide the bow of the canoe through the telescopic cross member assembly. After clearing the rocker, simply rotate 90 degrees to the top of the canoe and slide the custom - ripstop nylon pads along the gunwales (toward canoe center) positioning at the approximate balance point of the canoe.
With the telescopic cross member directly above the preferred balance point for portaging, the first of four (supplied) cam straps are used to connect the telescopic assembly to a built-in connection point in the canoe (usually a cross-support/thwart/or seat). Subsequently, two more cam straps are connected in the opposing direction to the first two. The exact order of connecting each cam strap doesn't matter. Whatever works best for you, works best for Bungee Yoke too!
Adjust the length and tension of the front/back cords by simply tightening each cam strap. The length/tension of each strap is ultimately determined by the the exact canoe specifications and personal preference regarding balance point. Generally, the tension of cam strap should be sufficient to firmly secure the canoe to both front and back cross members (thwart/seat) and eliminate overhead movement during portaging.
